Interview turn-offs

Failing to smile at interview has been ranked third in the UK employers’ top 10 turn-offs when hiring. According to research from CareerBuilder.co.uk, when asked to choose the biggest body langauage turn-offs in job interviews, employers went for:

  1. Failure to make eye contact
  2. Weak handshake
  3. Failure to smile
  4. Crossing your arms over your chest
  5. Playing with something on the table
  6. Playing with your hair or touching your face
  7. Fidgeting too much in your seat
  8. Bad posture
  9. Using too many hand gestures
  10. Handshake that is too strong
